Make-A-Wish's® mission is to grant wishes to kids with life-threatening medical conditions and to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. The team at Build for Love plans to honor and support this incredible organization by creating a beautiful outdoor space at their Northeastern California and Northern Nevada Chapter's Wishing Place. This space would not only provide a magical place for wish reveals for new Wish Children, but would also house a special memorial garden for past Wish Children who we have lost. This memorial area will be a one of a kind place where families of these children can come to remember their child's wish experience. This chapter serves 37 counties and owns one of only five permanent Make-A-Wish® chapter buildings throughout the US, providing meeting and event space for other chapters, as well.

Our third Build was for a sweet and active 10 year old boy named Justin of Antelope, CA. Justin was born prematurely with several severe health issues. After multiple cranial surgeries and extensive hospital stays throughout his young life, Justin now lives with significant visual and hearing impairment, cognitive and developmental delays, and is non-verbal. Because of his brain surgeries, it was crucial to have a safe place with smooth, even walking areas and soft surfaces for this active kid to play and explore.

The Build For Love team and amazing volunteers were able to create such a space for Justin, right in his own backyard. The space also includes an area for Justin's mom, Amber, and his older sister, Jessica, can sit and relax.

Caitlan Lyle

Our second build was amazing! Caitlan Lyle was diagnosed with acute myelioid leukemia in July of 2013/ We moved Caitlan to a new room with closet space, paint, a chalkboard wall and more. Now this talented and spirited girl has a a personalized space where she can enjoy all her hobbies and continue inspire those around her.

Ginger & Piper

Our first build was a huge success! Ginger and Piper Sampson were born with the life threatening disease cystic fibrosis. The Build for Love team put together a special and unique space for the girls - a place where they can do their breathing treatments while watching movies, reading books, and hanging out together! Thanks again to the Sampson family and all of our volunteers and donors! Check out the photos below to see your good deeds at work!
